Craig from That Dapper Chap and Jared from Jared LDN share their top choices for Christmas 2017
With Christmas just around the corner Jared LDN and I thought we’d get together with Base London Shoes to offer some advice on what to get the man in your life this Christmas. With accessories, shoes, clothing and grooming products, there is something suitable for every bloke of any age.
Christmas gifts for the man in your life from Coes.co.uk
The gifts above are all available from Coes. First is the Gentleman’s Hardware Buff & Shine shoe shine kit. At £15 it’s a really nice stocking filler to keep his shoes in tip top condition. Next to that is the Secrid card wallet which you’ll see more of in one of the videos below. At £50 I’m a real fan of this modern take on the traditional wallet. To the right of the wallet is the CHPO Harrold Watch with tan leather strap. It’s a very classic design and will suit most guys. Lastly are some great fur lined gloves by Dents, again there’s more on those in the video.
Craig of That Dapper Chap attends the Base London Shoes 21st anniversary and shares details of the new collection
British footwear brand Base London is celebrating its 21st Anniversary with a blockbuster new line of premium footwear and a series of short films shot in the capital.
With striking styles and leather soles throughout, the XXI collection is a more premium capsule range of footwear for Base London, identified by distinctive red leather linings and commemorative branding.
The Noel Hi Shine shoes
The Nash Hi Shine shoes
The Strand Hi Shine grain shoes
The set of five short films celebrates both the dynamic city that the brand calls home and the diverse range of customers that have contributed to Base London’s 21 years of success. Young fashion creative Martell Campbell begins the series as he goes about his day in Notting Hill, his inimitable style reflected in his choice of footwear.
Next, infamous model Ricki Hall showcases a lighter side of London lifestyle, with a humorous journey in his monkey boots across London to get a shave and a haircut, ending up with a classic snack of fish & chips by the Thames. Boxer, breakdancer and model Michael Morgan takes Base London to the streets, in a gritty black-and-white vignette that sees him shadowboxing and training in a pair of Base London shoes amidst the brutalist, hard architecture of inner-city London.
Influencer collective We Are Outlanders star in the penultimate video, demonstrating the flexibility and versatility of Base London shoes in a basketball match and out & about around East London’s cutting-edge creative hub, Shoreditch. The series concludes with model Gwilym Pugh, playing a style-conscious city gent who despite constant commuting across the city between meetings, never loses his impeccable sense of suited and booted style. Each film will be accompanied by style Q&As with each of the video stars, watch this space for updates!
The event was held at The Whistling Shop, a very cool Victorian style drinking establishment in Worship Steet. As guests arrived they soaked up the atmosphere and the gin cocktails on offer and enjoyed a variety of delicious canapés.
The XXI collection was displayed around the venue in cabinets and on shelves, and there are a few styles that are a must have for the coming season!
With the new videos being displayed on large screens and a series of retro TV’s a great night was had by all. Congratulations to Base London Shoes and here’s to another 21 years of great style!
Craig of That Dapper Chap styles a white cotton shirt and navy & red braces from Italian Grace
Today’s ‘What I Wore Today’ post is all about this premium Italian cotton shirt by I SARTI, available from Italian Grace. In a slim fit style the shirt is 100% cotton and is available in a variety os subtle colours and stripes.
Today’s shoes are from Base London and are the blue suede business shoe worn with red and blue polkadot socks. To keep the red accents going I opted for a red and blue silk pocket square by Paul Hewitt and a red jasper bracelet by Parvenu London.
The leather bag is from Ben Sherman and holds everything that I need on my daily commute. The red in the striped embellishment helps to keep the look cohesive. The braces (or suspenders) also do that and are again from Italian Grace. These trousers are a tad big on the waist, so they were a welcome addition and a change to the usual belt, giving a more sartorial gentlemanly look.
The red knitted tie and the flower lapel pin help finish this look and the blue Harding watch completes it, making sure that I arrive to every meeting on time and looking the part.
