Drake’s are proud to present its collection of beautiful menswear for AW17
Founded in 1977, Drakes have come a long way from their east end roots and have been delivering beautifully considered and timeless menswear pieces every year since.
With their factory still based in London’s east end, Drakes are now well known for their luxury pieces, stunning fabrics and attention to detail. “we make things that people can and will want to wear, for years and years to come.” – Michael Hill.
Modelled by Richard Beidul, the new collection was shot on the rugged and windswept terrain of the Shetland Islands. “While the landscape acts as a breathtaking foil to the colours and textures of our collection, it is also the environment from which many of our raw materials spring”
Rich warm fabrics such as Harris tweeds are used on jackets while wide wale cord and flannels are made good use on in trousers. The collection is a wonderful combination of colour, pattern and texture, all the while utilising the most luxurious fabrics.
The red brushed Shetland cable knit Jumper above is 100% lambswool and is knitted in the Shetland Islands. For me it’s a key piece in the collections as it really represents what Drakes have done this season. Knitted using a brushed technique the wool is somewhat softer as it cuts down on it’s natural coarseness and makes a fabric that isn’t just easier on the skin, but has a lived-in quality to it which makes it look like an instant old favourite.
The collection is available right now online and in stores.
